Tranq bombs are made from sleep herbs and parashrooms. Pit traps are made from ivy, spider webs and a trap tool. And shock traps are a thudnderbug and a trap tool. They can break things /easier/, but can't cut tails, which is required for a lot of things. Meanwhile, it takes sword users longer to break things, but they can still do it.

So yes, you can cut off tails. In older games, the Bow did have a melee attack which was the only way to cut tails as a Bow user back then. Close range coatings back then also amplified melee damage making it somewhat easier to cut off tails with this method. svet brojeva
