Just for comparison to the Shuttle Landing Facility, which has a 15000 x 300 ft runway. I would love to see a Space Shuttle arrive at JFK, whose runway is only 428 feet less than the SLF. Could the Shuttle land at Ares 51 as one of those sites. I assume the Shuttle needs a huge runway and Area 51 has a huge one, but can the Shuttle land at a secret airforce base like that?
